Dan Russell Releases Music Video for “Before the Guns”

The Second Video Off His Debut Album Feel The Echoes

Newburyport, Mass. (November 17, 2017) - Mass shootings, terrorism and acts of hate are some of the current issues addressed in Dan Russell’s newest music video “Before The Guns”, though this powerful song was written over a quarter century ago. Provoked by the onslaught of Dessert Storm, the lyrics echo the harsh truths of today.

“Politician eat their words, TV news ratings soar, any day now, any day history repeats it’s worst mistake.”

On the surface “Before The Guns” asks if there is any other approach than to drop the bombs or send the tanks, why someone pulled the trigger and what was the media’s roll in all of this. On a deeper level “Before The Guns” is a plea for love.

The music video is directed by son, Jesse Russell; song written and performed by Dan Russell and produced by The Violet Burning’s Michael Pritzl. His debut album “Feel The Echoes” has been added into rotation in 45 stations across the nation.
